REV'IT! AVERTUM TECH-AIR® AIRBAG

The REV’IT! Avertum Tech-Air® Airbag is an autonomous electronic airbag vest designed to be worn under a motorcycle jacket or suit with sufficient space for expansion. Developed with Alpinestars Tech-Air® technology, it protects the shoulders, chest, ribs, and back, with very rapid activation — between 20 and 40 milliseconds depending on the size and volume of the airbag.

Features

• Technology: electronic Tech-Air® system developed in collaboration with Alpinestars; requires no connecting cables, external sensors, or installations on the motorcycle.

• Fit: designed to be worn under a standard motorcycle jacket or suit; it is recommended to leave approximately 4 cm of space to allow the system to expand fully.

• Sensors: six integrated triaxial sensors: three accelerometers and three gyroscopes that constantly monitor the rider's movements.

• Crash detection: electronic algorithm based on artificial intelligence, designed to recognize crash dynamics and activate the airbag at the appropriate moment.

• Inflation time: approximately 20–40 ms, depending on the size of the vest and the volume of the airbag to be inflated.

• Protected areas: shoulders, chest, ribs, and full back.

• Declared performance: reduction of impact force by up to 95% compared to passive protection; the manufacturer/sales network compares it to the use of 18 Level 1 CE back protectors.

• Back protector: integrated, highly ventilated back protector, which provides passive protection even when the airbag is not inflated.

• Certification: vest certified EN 17092-6:2020, Class C U; the airbag system complies with the EN 1621-4 standard.

• Use: suitable for both road riding and sports/racing use, in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the outer garment used.

• Materials: mesh, polyester, 20D ripstop, and stretch panels to combine ventilation, lightness, and freedom of movement.

• Ventilation: mesh panels on the chest and ventilated back protector to facilitate air circulation under the jacket.

• Closure: front zip with magnetic flap; integrated LED display to check the system's operating status.

• Battery: lithium-ion battery with an autonomy of approximately 30 hours of riding after a full charge.

• Charging: magnetic micro-USB charger/cable.

• Connectivity: Bluetooth and Tech-Air® app to view system status, battery life, and usage information.

• Cartridges: argon gas inflators included; the system allows up to three activations before maintenance and recharging at an authorized service center.
  

Recommended use

It is indicated for motorcyclists seeking a versatile airbag for commuting, touring, sports road riding, and, if permitted by regulations or the specific garment configuration, even track use. Thanks to the absence of mechanical connection to the motorcycle, the vest is easily transferable from one vehicle to another and can be used by both the rider and the passenger.

Before setting off, put on the vest so it fits snugly against your body, close the zip and magnetic flap properly, check the status via the LED, and ensure the outer jacket has sufficient room for expansion. A garment that is too tight may hinder inflation and reduce the system's protective effectiveness.

Safety and maintenance

The Avertum Tech-Air® complements, but does not replace, a helmet, certified motorcycle jacket, gloves, trousers, and boots. Its function is to reduce the energy transmitted to the covered areas during a fall or collision, while the integrated back protector also provides protection when the system is not activated.

REV’IT! recommends periodic maintenance every two years or after 500 hours of operation. After an activation, do not use the vest again until the system has been reset according to the prescribed procedure; once three activations have been reached, you must contact an authorized service center for maintenance and recharging.
