Description
The IXS Pacora-ST Jacket is a waterproof textile touring jacket, designed for all-season use. It combines a Tactel® outer shell, a solto-TEX® Z-Liner membrane, a removable thermal lining, six ventilation openings, and Level 2 CE protectors on the shoulders, elbows, and back.
Features
-
Outer shell: Tactel®, a technical polyamide/nylon-based fabric that is durable and lightweight; it is noted for being soft to the touch and quick-drying.
-
Waterproofing: Two-layer solto-TEX® membrane with Z-Liner construction, which is waterproof and breathable.
-
Fixed lining: Breathable mesh with a water barrier to promote comfort and moisture management.
-
Thermal lining: Removable polyester thermal padding, useful in colder temperatures.
-
Back: Pocket with 3D mesh panel to contribute to air circulation and moisture transport.
-
Ventilation: Six zippered openings distributed across the jacket; the cuffs have two-way zippers to improve airflow.
-
Shoulder protectors: ImpacTec TP-02 certified EN 1621-1:2012, Level 2.
-
Elbow protectors: ImpacTec TP-02 EN 1621-1:2012 Level 2 and height-adjustable.
-
Back protector: ImpacTec TP-06 protector, certified EN 1621-2:2014 Level 2, indicated as pre-installed in some commercial specifications; always check the equipment of the specific version purchased.
-
Garment certification: Compliant with standard FprEN 17092-3:2019, Class AA.
-
Adjustments: Adjustable volume on the upper arm, elbow, cuff, waist, and jacket hem, to stabilize the garment and keep the protectors in the correct position.
-
Collar and cuffs: Soft finishes to increase comfort, especially when worn with gloves; sleeve closures designed to facilitate ventilation.
-
Pockets: Seven external pockets, two internal pockets in the fixed lining, and two Napoleon pockets.
-
Trouser connection: Perimeter connection zipper for compatible IXS motorcycle trousers.
-
Visibility: Reflective prints and inserts to improve visibility in low-light conditions.
Recommended use
It is suitable for touring, commuting, and road trips with variable weather. The fixed waterproof membrane protects against rain and wind, the removable thermal lining increases comfort in the cold, and the six ventilation points make the Pacora-ST more suitable for mild days compared to a classic closed winter jacket.
In very hot summer weather, the fixed membrane may make it less airy than a true mesh jacket; however, it remains a versatile solution for those looking for a single garment to use for most of the year, adjusting the lining and openings according to the temperature.
Design and comfort
The Pacora-ST combines a functional touring line with many practical elements: numerous pockets, extensive adjustments, trouser connection, and pre-included Level 2 protectors. The Tactel® material aims to offer a good balance between durability and lightness, while the mesh lining, the rear 3D panel, and the zippered openings are designed to enhance comfort on longer rides.
